Almost a year ago we decided to reach out to local charities, asking if they’d be willing to take part in a “Celebration of Care”. Nothing needed other than a willingness to take us up on our offer and the dedication of a few hours of their time.
We were delighted when Headway Devon got in touch and said they wanted to join us in our mission of “celebrating care”. Headway Devon is a local charity dedicated to improving life after brain injury. They provide essential services across Devon and Torbay for people with acquired brain injuries, their families and carers.
At the heart of every charity…
At the heart of every charity are the people who are supported by it. That’s why we wanted to hear from them and their personal stories reflecting on how Headway Devon have done and are still doing amazing work to help make their lives a little easier.
This is where we introduce Marilyn. She has been a part of Headway for 22 years and both her and her late husband were considered “mum and dad of Headway.” Listen below where Marilyn describes her favourite, memorable moment and says in her own words what Headway means.
